About JT The Mentor Coach
JT the Mentor Coach was founded in 2020 by Joseph L. Thomas, a certified trainer and instructor with over two decades of experience in youth sports and parenting. We strive to provide affordable coaching and mentoring services to underserved communities, focusing on helping parents raise children in the 21st century. We offer a range of programs for leaders, coaches, parents, and student-athletes, all designed to promote youth development and prevent lifelong trauma in children. Our business is licensed with the state of California under license number 20735, and we are dedicated to providing our clients with the highest quality services and support.
Joseph L. Thomas, also known as "JT the Mentor Coach,"
is a dedicated and passionate speaker, educator, author, and minister with over 25 years of experience in youth development. A former college basketball player and high school multi-sport athlete, JT has 15 years of coaching experience and has facilitated over 1100 workshops across the United States. He is the author of several books outlining his coaching philosophies, including "Developing Character Leaders through Sports," "The Parents' Playbook for Raising Character Leaders," and "Mentoring Your Child in the 21st Century." In addition to his experience as a coach and mentor, JT has served in various roles supporting youth development, including as the founder of a rite of passage program, youth program director, education director, athletic director, social worker, and case manager. He holds a bachelor's degree in Communication Studies and a master's degree in Counseling from California State University, Sacramento.
At JT the Mentor Coach, our mission is to promote youth development and prevent lifelong trauma in children through affordable coaching and mentoring services. We strive to empower leaders, coaches, parents, and student-athletes with the knowledge and skills they need to create a positive and supportive environment for youth. We believe in the importance of fun and education in sports and the value of diversity and inclusion in all aspects of our work.
